Hood in the Wood

A retelling of the classic fairy tale Little Red Riding Hood by Noel Greig

Recommended for grade 6 – 7

The tamed, urban world is at odds with nature and Gran’s house seems far more enchanting deep in the middle of the woods… A troupe of players shares the tale of Little Red Riding Hood, venturing out into the scary world on her own. A parcel on the mat, a cloak, and the journey of little Red begins. Will she drift from the path like her artist Gran? Will she keep to strict rules like her Mother? Or will she live wild like the Wolf?

Join The English Theatre Frankfurt for this playful but dark adventure, exploring identity, freedom and independence. With live music and rhyme, thrilling and fun! The magic of theatre unravels for children as they are taken deep into the woods with little Red.

Noel Greig’s powerful retelling of the classic fairy tale tangles you up in the web of imagination. This is a show about fear and coming-of-age, and how sometimes we have to find the wild side of our nature in order to survive.

This is a first-rate piece of storytelling that will make children squeal with terrified delight and parents shiver with recognition. The Guardian
