Involuntary break / Zwangspause

Dear ETF-Patrons,

With the final performance of the thriller “The Wasp” on September 22, 2024, the English Theatre Frankfurt (ETF) will have to temporarily cease its performances. We will resume our regular operation with the musical comedy “Nunsense” on December 11, 2024. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Theater am Zoo (formerly the Fritz-Rémond-Theater).

For tickets and questions, our Box Office Team is still available by phone, email and in person at the Theater am Zoo.

How did this involuntary break come about? As the Gallieo-Tower, in which the ETF’s own home venue is located, is undergoing substantial renovations, the theatre currently lacks the space to present its program as usual from September to July.

Instead, the ETF departments that are normally directly involved in the nightly performances will have to go on short-time work. This affects our costume and technical departments, among others, but also our bar crew. Our box office team is still available to you, albeit on a reduced basis, by phone, email and in person at the Theater am Zoo.

This is anything but an ideal situation. With the reduced performances, the income that makes the performances possible in the first place is, of course, also reduced. In order to maintain the financial health of the theatre and still keep our loyal staff, measures such as short-time work are unfortunately necessary.

We can hardly wait for the curtain to rise for “Nunsense” in December, and we can fully resume our operation. Preparations for “Nunsense” are already underway in London.
