The English Theatre Policies & Guest Relations

Doors for seating open 15 minutes prior to scheduled curtain time.

Late arrival
With the increased traffic in the downtown area, guests are advised to allow adequate time for travel, parking, walking to the theatre, finding seats, etc. Guests should plan to be at the theatre at least 1/2 hour prior to the scheduled show time. Shows start at the scheduled time. Once a performance has started, seating in your assigned seat may be restricted. You may be placed in alternate locations, if available, or not seated at all. This policy will be adjusted as necessary, at our sole discretion, to minimize overall disruption to the performance.

Cameras, audio and video tape recorders are not permitted at The English Theatre. Taking photographs or using recording (audio/video) devices is strictly prohibited.

Cellular phones and pagers must be turned off or set to “vibrate”.

Doctors and parents, as any guest, cannot not be paged during a performance. If you are expecting a call, please leave your name and seat location with the usher. We also recommend that parents leave their seating location with their child care provider in case of emergencies.

Fire exits are indicated by lighted, green signs. Please use the exit nearest your seat for the shortest route out of theatre. The ushers will assist you.

Barrier free seating locations and restrooms are provided. Please advise the box office of special needs and seating requirements when ordering tickets.

Restrooms are located in the lower level of James the Bar, men’s on the left and women’s on the right side. Restrooms for mobility impaired patrons are located on the upper floor of James the Bar. For assistance, please contact an usher.

Food and beverage are not permitted in the auditorium. The bar is located in the basement.

First aid is available at all events.

Telephones are located in James the Bar and at the cloak room.

Lost and found items are turned in to the head usher at the event. Please call 069/242 316 20 to inquire.
