When the Little Sisters of Hoboken discover that their cook, Sister Julia, Child of God, has accidentally poisoned 52 of the sisters, they become in dire need of funds for the burials. The sisters decide that the best way to raise the money is to put on a variety show, so they take over the school auditorium, which is currently set up for the eighth grade production of “Grease.”

Led by Reverend Mother Sister Mary Regina, a former circus performer, the nuns stage a show the likes of which you won’t believe! Among the blessed performers are Sister Mary Hubert, the Mistress of Novices; a streetwise nun from Brooklyn named Sister Robert Anne; Sister Mary Leo, a novice who is a wannabe ballerina; and the delightfully wacky Sister Mary Amnesia, the nun who lost her memory when a crucifix fell on her head. Featuring star turns, tap and ballet dancing, an audience quiz, and comic surprises, this show has become an international phenomenon. With more than 5000 productions worldwide, it has been translated into 21 languages.

Schwester Julia, Kind Gottes und Köchin des Konvents „Die kleinen Schwestern von Hoboken“ hat versehentlich 52 ihrer Schwestern vergiftet. Um die zahlreichen Beerdigungen finanzieren zu können, beschließen die Nonnen, eine Varietéshow zu veranstalten. Sie richten sich hierfür in der Schulaula ein, inmitten des „Grease“ Bühnenbildes, das für eine Schülerproduktion der 8. Klasse bereit steht. Unter der Leitung der ehrwürdigen Mutter Schwester Mary Regina, einer ehemaligen Zirkuskünstlerin, kreieren die Nonnen eine Show, die seinesgleichen sucht! Zu den gesegneten Mitwirkenden gehören: Schwester Mary Hubert, Vorsteherin der Novizen, Schwester Robert Anne, die cleveren Nonne aus Brooklyn, Schwester Mary Leo, eine Möchtegern-Ballerina und die entzückend verrückten Schwester Mary Amnesia, die Nonne, die ihr Gedächtnis verlor, als ihr ein Kruzifix auf den Kopf fiel! Die verrückte Mischung aus Soloperformances, Stepp-Tänzen und Ballett-Einlagen, einem Publikumsquiz und vielen weiteren Absurditäten machten dieses Musical zu einem internationalen Phänomen. Mit mehr als 5000 Produktionen weltweit ist die Show in 21 Sprachen übersetzt worden.
